AUTHOR: Written by Yin Shaoting Translated by Magnus Fiskesjo 出版日期 页数 出版社Yunnan Education Publishing House 出版地 This book reports the results of the author''''s long-term research on swidden agriculture among nineteen ethnic groups in the tropical and subtropical regions of Yunnan. Over a long period of history, many ethnic groups in Yunnan relied upon swidden agriculture as well as hunting and gathering. These people had and have unique views of nature and its resources and a wealth of practical technical knowledge about, and experience of forest life. The author has spent many years concentrating on studies and research related to the Yunnan peoples that practice swidden farming. As a result, to date, two small books and a number of articles and reports have already been published on the subject. This book can be said to build on these previous results, and represents an attempt to sum up, provide an overview, and to explore the issue involved even further. |
